Originally from the Bangor area Matt left sixteen years ago to train in Philadelphia at the jean Madeline Aveda Institute.  Matthew has taken advanced cutting classes with Fabrice Gili, The creative director of Frederic Fekkai and Brandon Shin, Owner of FORMYHAIR NYC.  He has taken men's cutting classes with Kurt Kueffner, co founder of Kueffner Workshops and taken advanced styling and cutting classes with Jon Reyman, Aveda guest artist and founder of Spoke and Weal.  The last ten years he worked in New York City behind the chair and backstage with Aveda at New York Fashion week.  ​
